Dubai Illuminates the World: A Dazzling Welcome to 2025 and Celebrations for Ramadan

Dubai is set to captivate the globe with its spectacular New Year’s Eve celebrations, ushering in 2025 with breathtaking fireworks, drone shows, and live entertainment across iconic landmarks. Simultaneously, the city is preparing for the spiritual observance of Ramadan, marked by community initiatives, cultural events, and city-wide decorations.

New Year’s Eve Spectacle

Dubai’s New Year’s Eve festivities promise an unforgettable experience, broadcast live across major media channels. The city’s most famous landmarks, including the Burj Khalifa, The Pointe at The Palm, and the Al Seef district, will be the focal points for dazzling fireworks and synchronized drone displays. The Burj Khalifa’s light and pyrotechnic show, running from 11:50 PM to 12:10 AM, is anticipated to be a major highlight, drawing thousands of attendees and global viewers.

Dubai Media Incorporated (DMI) will provide comprehensive coverage, starting from Tuesday evening, December 31, 2024, until the early hours of January 1, 2025. Special programming will feature live updates from various city locations, including insights into the logistical planning and safety measures orchestrated by the RTA and Dubai Police. Emirati superstar Ahlam is set to perform as part of the "In Love with Dubai" program.

Other key locations like Dubai Frame, Festival City, Dubai Creek Harbour, and Expo City Dubai will host immersive celebrations with live entertainment and family-friendly activities, showcasing Dubai as a beacon of innovation and culture.

Ramadan in Dubai Campaign

In parallel, Dubai is gearing up for the second edition of the #RamadanInDubai campaign, a city-wide initiative celebrating the Holy Month. This campaign, spearheaded by Brand Dubai in partnership with various government and private entities, aims to highlight Dubai’s unique Ramadan experiences.

Key initiatives include:

  • Transforming Dubai’s roads with Ramadan-themed light and color decorations.
  • A special #RamadanInDubai passport stamp for arriving visitors.
  • The ‘Dubai’s Best Decorated Ramadan Homes’ competition.
  • Illuminated mosques with special projection displays.

The campaign will feature a diverse range of events, from cultural festivals and heritage activations to Ramadan markets, special Iftar and Suhoor offerings, and extended shopping hours. Humanitarian initiatives focused on giving back and community-driven programs, including educational workshops and volunteering opportunities, will also be central to the celebrations. The Ramadan Cannon tradition will be observed at multiple locations across the city.

Mona Al Marri, Vice Chairperson and Managing Director of the Dubai Media Council, emphasized that the campaign reflects Dubai’s growing global profile as a model for diversity and inclusivity, aligning with the city’s commitment to tolerance and coexistence.
